  • Amiya Kumar Bagchi (Bengali: অমিয় কুমার বাগচী) (born 1936) is a distinguished Indian political economist. His contributions have spanned economic history, the economics of industrialization and deindustrialization, and development studies from an overall Marxist perspective, incorporating insights from other schools of radical political economics, including left Keynesianism. Among Marxists, he is known for his extensive contributions to theories of imperialism and underdevelopment.

  • Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay (Bengali: রাখালদাস বন্দোপাধ্যায়) (12 April 1885 – 23 May 1930), also known as R. D. Banerji, was an Indian historian and a native Indian pioneer in the fields of Indian archaeology, epigraphy and palaeography. He was the Manindra Chandra Nandy Professor of Ancient Indian History and Culture at the Banaras Hindu University from 1928-30. He is mostly known as the discoverer of Mohenjo-daro, the principal site of the Harappa culture.

  • Radhakamal Mukerjee (Bengali: রাধাকমল মুখার্জী) (1889–1968), a leading thinker and social scientist of modern India, was Professor of Economics and Sociology and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lucknow. Mukerjee played an important and constructive role in the Indian independence movement. He was a highly original philosopher of history and a discerning interpreter of culture and civilization.

  • Radha Kumud Mukherjee (Bengali: রাধা কুমুদ মুখার্জী), also spelled Radhakumud Mookerji, was an Indian historian. he was a noted Indian nationalist during the period of British colonial rule. He published Indian Shipping: A History of Seaborne Trade and Maritime Activity of the Indians from the Earliest Times in 1912. He was an advocate of the notion of Greater India in which Indian merchants and adventurers with huge fleets brought Indians to Southeast Asia and became the foundation of kingdoms in that region. Such theories have been largely discredited by modern scholarship in the Southeast Asia region.
